One of the many reasons we love love love New York:
Back in 2009, 103 artists from all over the world were secretly taken to an abandoned subway station somewhere in New York and given a full night to create paintings, murals and installations.
Closing on the same night it opened this past summer, The Underbelly Project was one of the largest shows of street art ever displayed in one place. Also, the most secretive.
One New York Times reporter was lucky enough to get into the space on opening and closing night and capture these rare photos.
