It’s no secret that the 80’s was an amazing decade. So you can imagine our excitement when we were presented the opportunity to have a selection from The Costacos Brothers’ exhibition For the Kids at Mondrian LA.

The collection stems from Tock and John Costacos who created over 700 posters of their favorite professional athletes from 1986 to 1990. But we’re not talking Magic Johnson in a uniform slam-dunking. Rather, they did what every American wanted, but just didn’t know it yet. They posed each athlete in a way that glorified their nickname and position in the sports world – essentially making them superheroes.

If you’re in Los Angeles, stop by and see the collection which opens this Saturday 1/21. Reception starts at 9pm at Mondrian Los Angeles following an official launch at Country Club.
