Spotted on the River- Tom Fruin’s WATERTOWER

We treated ourselves to a ride on the East River Ferry last weekend and couldn’t help but notice an illuminating tower next to the Manhattan Bridge. Made entirely of salvaged plexiglas and steel, the watertower is part of artist Tom Fruin’s Icon series and brings a more 3 dimensional form to his traditional drug-bag quilts and flags.

Situated on the rooftop of 20 Jay Street in Dumbo, the sculpture will hold daily light shows starting at dusk through next June.
